Submit your original Rubaei (Persian Quatrain), Do Beiti, or any other style of Quatrain for a chance to win recognition and exciting prizes.

A Rubaei consists of four lines where the 1st, 2nd, and 4th lines rhyme, and the 3rd line is unrhymed. It is known for its deep meaning, simplicity, and philosophical undertones.

Rules

Contest Rules

Eligibility:
Open to poets of all ages, from anywhere in the world.
Submissions must be in Persian or English or any other 13 listed languages.

Poetry Style:
Entries should be in the form of Rubaei, Do Beiti, or Quatrains (four-line poems).
Each poem must follow the structure and style of these traditional poetic forms.

Originality:
All submissions must be original and unpublished. Plagiarism will result in disqualification.

Submission Guidelines:
Maximum of 3 entries per person.
Submit your poems online via the form provided on Saraye Sokhan.

Deadline:
The last date to submit entries is December 31, 2025.

Judging Criteria:
Creativity and originality.
Adherence to the poetic form and style.
Emotional impact and beauty of expression.

Prizes:
First Prize: Featured Poet Award + $500 or equivalent in local currency.
Second Prize: Featured Poet Award + $300 or equivalent in local currency.
Third Prize: Featured Poet Award + $200 or equivalent in local currency.
Selected entries will be published and credited on Saraye Sokhan.

Copyright:
By entering, participants agree to allow Saraye Sokhan to publish their submissions (with proper attribution). Copyright remains with the poet.

Results Announcement:
Winners will be announced on April 1, 2026 on Saraye Sokhan.

From the sun, I gave my shade and was betrayed,
Each friend I loved has my trust dismayed.

This heart, filled with hope, turned to blood instead,
On those I relied, false loyalty was displayed.
