The sorrow in my narrow heart is from this,
That there is no friend with whom to share my heart's sorrow.

Poetic and Interpretive Translation:

The tale of that tearful candle, none can know,
Nor fathom the depths of my heart’s woe.
My sorrow's root, a lonely, aching heart,
Yearning for a friend to ease its smart.
