May your beauty be the sun of every gaze, Ghazal 104 by Hafez
By @admin | poet: Hafez Shirazi | 5 4
***
Description:
English Translation:
May your beauty be the sun of every gaze,
May something even more beautiful than your beautiful face be yours.
May the heart of the kings of the world be under the wing
Of the royal falcon with its curled locks.
Anyone who is not bound by your locks
Is as tangled and confused as your locks.
May any heart that is not in love with your face
Be forever drowned in the blood of its liver.
O idol, as your coquettish glance shoots its arrow,
May my wounded heart be a shield for it.
When your sugary ruby gives a kiss,
May the taste of my life be filled with sweetness.
From you, I have a fresh love every moment,
May you have a new beauty every hour.
Hafez's eager soul is for your face,
May you look upon those who long for you.
