***
Description:
English Translation:
The minstrel of love has a wondrous instrument and melody,
Every note he plays leads somewhere.
May the world never be empty of the lovers' laments,
For it has a pleasant and joyful air.
Our suffering old man, though he has no gold or power,
Has a generous and forgiving God.
Respect my heart, for this sugar-loving fly
Has the splendor of a phoenix since it became your admirer.
It is not far from justice if he asks about his condition,
A king who has a beggar as a neighbor.
I showed my bloody tears to the physicians, they said,
It is the pain of love, and it has a liver-burning remedy.
Do not learn cruelty from a glance, for in the religion of love,
Every action has a reward, and every deed a punishment.
The fearful, wine-loving idol said well,
Enjoy the face of someone who has purity.
