In Nishapur, one said, do you know what he spoke,

When his son slept, as he was told to, in a dream’s cloak?

Do not expect, O son, if anyone,

Without effort, ever reaches the place they’ve begun.

Like the camel that, without wine, takes no step,

A being without benefit is as null as the depths.

Desire the profit, but fear the loss that may come,

For those empty of gain are free from harm, yet undone.
