Perfection lies in the soul of a noble man

If he lacks gold, what loss or fear can there be?

Do not think that if the lowly become Qarun

His vile nature will change for the better

If the benevolent man does not earn bread

His foundation remains rich regardless

Benevolence is the earth, and the seed of cultivation

Give, so the root remains free from excess

The God who made people from dust

It is a wonder if He loses people

Do not seek to raise your stature from grace

For the stench of stagnant water makes it unpleasant

Strive for generosity, like flowing water

For aid to its flood comes from the sky

If the lowly fall from power and wealth

He will rarely return to the straight path

Do not grieve for the value of a precious gem

For time will not let it be wasted

Though you see a stone fallen in the way

You do not see that no one will take a second glance at it

And if a small piece of gold falls from your teeth

It will be sought again by the light of a candle

They carve glass from stone at the door

Where can a mirror remain under rust?

One needs art, virtue, religion, and perfection

For sometimes fame and wealth come, and sometimes they go
