Section 15 - Tale of Fasting in Childhood: As a child, I developed a desire to fast.
A child asked for the desire of fasting
He did not know which way was left and which was right
A pious man from the wayfarers of the alley
Taught me to wash hands and face
Say Bismillah first as per the tradition
Second, make the intention, third, wash your hands
Then wash your mouth and nose three times
And clean the inner nostrils with your small finger
Rub your front teeth with the index finger
This is forbidden in fasting after sunset
Then take three handfuls of water and apply it to the face
From the root of the hair to the chin
Next, wash your hands up to the elbows
Recite supplications and prayers that you know
Then wipe the head, and after that, wash the feet
This is it, and end with the name of God
No one knows this method from me
Do you not see how the old man of the village grew feeble?
They said to Dehkhoda what he said
He sent his message secretly
O you of ugly deeds and beautiful words
First, do what you say to the people
You said using a miswak while fasting is wrong
Is it permissible to consume the flesh of the dead human?
Speak first of what has not been spoken
Wash away what was washed by the food
Whoever's name comes in the middle
Call them by the best name and epithet
If you constantly say that people are foolish
Do not think that your name will be like those of the foolish
Speak of your character as if in my alley
That you can speak directly in front of me
And if your shame comes from the sight of the observer
Are you not blind, the unseen observer is present?
Does your shame not come from within yourself?
Being free from it, do you feel ashamed of me?
