A Magian had closed the door to the world

He devoted himself to the service of an idol

After several years, fate brought a difficult situation upon him

Due to his detestable faith

He prostrated before the idol, hoping for good

The poor fellow collapsed to the ground of the temple

Saying, 'I am helpless, help me, O idol'

I am at my wit's end, have mercy on my body

He often pleaded in its service

But nothing he did succeeded

How can an idol fulfill anyone's needs

When it cannot even drive away a fly from itself?

He became angry and said, 'O slave of misguidance

I have worshipped you in vain for years

Fulfill this need that I have

Or I will ask the Lord instead

While still prostrating with his face in the dirt

The Pure God fulfilled his wish

A scholar of truths was astonished by this

His clear head became troubled

Seeing a misguided one, not a worshipper of God

Still drunk from the wine of the idol temple

He abandoned disbelief and ceased his treachery

God granted the wish he sought

His mind was troubled by this problem

Until a message reached his heart

That he had pleaded to a mindless old idol

He had said much but received no answer

If he is also rejected from our door

Then what difference is there between the idol and the Lord?

O friend, you must bind your heart to the Lord

For all who are helpless are less than the idol

It is impossible that if you bow at this door

Your hand will return empty of need

O God, we have come short in our deeds

We have come empty-handed and hopeful
