Section 4 - On Kindness to the Good and Bad: Do not tie a knot on the cord of kindness.
Do not tie a knot on the string of kindness (do not put conditions on your favors)
For this is hypocrisy and deception, and that is trickery and artifice.
The man of interpretation (scholar) suffers a loss
Who sells knowledge and literature for bread (for worldly gain).
Where does reason or religious law give the verdict
That wise people should exchange religion for the world (worldly possessions)?
However, you take (accept) that the wise man
Willingly buys from those who sell cheaply (offers knowledge freely).
