Hekayat 15: A dismissed minister joined the dervishes.
One of the ministers was dismissed and joined the circle of dervishes. The effect of the blessing of their company spread to him and he gained peace of mind. The king was pleased with him once again and ordered him to work. He did not accept and said: Dismissal is better in the eyes of the wise than being occupied.
Those who sat in the corner of well-being
Closed the dog's teeth and people's mouths.
They tore the paper and broke the pen
And were freed from the hand of fault-finding tongues.
The king said: Surely we need a wise man who is capable of managing the kingdom. He said: O king, the only sign of a sufficient wise man is that he does not submit to such tasks.
The Homa bird is honored above all birds because
It eats bones and does not harm living beings.
They said to the lynx: Why did you choose to associate with the lion? He said: So that I eat the leftovers of his prey and live in safety from enemies under his power. They said to him: Now that you have come under his protection and acknowledged his blessings, why do you not come closer so that he may bring you into his inner circle and consider you one of his sincere servants? He said: I am still not safe from his wrath.
Even if a Gabr (fire worshipper) burns fire for a hundred years
If he falls into it for a moment, he will burn.
It may happen that a courtier of the Sultan receives gold, and it may happen that he loses his head, and wise men have said: One should be wary of the changing nature of kings, for sometimes they are offended by a greeting and at other times they bestow a robe for an insult, and it has been said that making many jokes is the art of courtiers and the fault of wise men.
You be on your own worth and dignity
Leave jesting and joking to the courtiers.
