Hekayat 45: A Jurist's Daughter

It is said that a jurist had a daughter who was extremely ugly and had reached the age of marriage, but despite her dowry and wealth, no one was interested in marrying her.

Ugly is the silk and brocade

That is on an ugly bride

In short, due to necessity, they married her off to a blind man.

It is said that a wise man had come from Serendib at that time who could cure the blind.

They said to the jurist, 'Why don't you cure your son-in-law?'

He said, 'I'm afraid that if he becomes sighted, he will divorce my daughter.'

It's better for the husband of an ugly woman to be blind.
