Hekayat No. 12: A Scholar and a Beautiful Person

Someone asked one of the scholars: Someone is sitting in seclusion with a beautiful person, the doors are closed, the rivals are asleep, and the self is desirous and lust is dominant, as the Arabs say: The dates are ripe and the watchman is not preventing; is it possible that he remains safe from it by the power of piety?

He said: If he remains safe from the beautiful ones, he will not remain safe from the slanderers.

And if a person remains safe from the evil of his own soul

He will not be safe from the evil suspicion of the accuser.

It is possible to sit behind one's own business

But it is not possible to shut people's mouths.
