Two princes were in Egypt, one learned science and the other amassed wealth. Ultimately, one became the scholar of the age and the other became the Aziz (ruler) of Egypt.

Then this wealthy one looked at the فقيه (faqih - jurist) with contempt and said: I have attained sovereignty and this one remains in poverty.

He said: O brother! The gratitude for the blessing of the Creator, may His name be glorified, is still greater upon me who has inherited the legacy of the prophets, meaning knowledge, and you have inherited the legacy of Pharaoh and Haman, meaning the kingdom of Egypt.

I am that ant that they trample underfoot

Not a wasp that they complain about from my hand

How can I express gratitude for this blessing

That I do not have the power to torment people?
