Hekayat No. 3: I was a guest of an old man in Diyarbakir who had abundant wealth and a handsome son.
I was a guest of an old man in Diyarbakir who had abundant wealth and a handsome son.
One night he recounted: 'I have had no other child in my life but this son. There is a tree in this valley that is a place of pilgrimage where people go to ask for their needs. For many nights I have pleaded to God at the foot of that tree until He granted me this son.'
I heard the son saying softly to his companions: 'What if I knew where that tree was so that I could pray and my father would die?'
The master rejoices that his son is wise, while the son taunts that his father is senile.
Years will pass over you without you visiting
The grave of your father.
What good have you done in place of your father?
That you expect the same from your son.
