حکمت شماره ۲: موسی، علیه السلام، قارون را نصیحت کرد که: ...
Moses, peace be upon him, advised Korah: 'Do good as God has done good to you.' He did not listen, and you know his fate.
موسی، عَلَیهِ السَّلام، قارون را نصیحت کرد که: «اَحْسِن کَما اَحسَنَ اللهُ الیک». نشنید و عاقبتش شنیدی.
He who did not accumulate good deeds with dinars and dirhams
In the end, he lost his head over dinars and dirhams.
آن کس که به دینار و درم خیر نیندوخت
سر عاقبت اندر سر دینار و درم کرد
If you want to enjoy this world and the hereafter
Be generous to people as God has been generous to you.
خواهی که ممتّع شوی از دنیا و عُقبا
با خلق کَرَم کن چو خدا با تو کَرَم کرد
The Arabs say: 'Give and do not boast, for its benefit will return to you'; meaning give and do not be condescending, for its benefit will return to you.
عرب گوید: «جُد وَ لاتَمنُن فَاِنَّ الفائدةَ اِلَیکَ عائدة»؛ یعنی ببخش و منّت منه که نفع آن به تو باز می‌گردد.
Wherever the tree of generosity takes root
Its branches and height surpass the heavens.
درخت کرَم هر کجا بیخ کرد
گذشت از فلک شاخ و بالای او
If you hope to benefit from it
Do not saw at its base with condescension.
گر امّیدواری کز او بر خوری
به منّت منه ارّه بر پای او
Give thanks to God that you have succeeded in good deeds
From His bounty and grace, He did not leave you idle.
شکر خدای کن که موفق شدی به خیر
ز انعام و فضل او، نه معطّل گذاشتت
Do not boast that you are serving the Sultan
Be grateful to Him who has kept you in service.
منّت منه که خدمت سلطان کنی همی
منّت شناس از او که به خدمت بداشتت
