A king should not unleash his anger on enemies to such an extent that friends lose trust. The fire of anger first falls upon the one who harbors it, and only then does its flame reach the enemy, or not.

It is not fitting for a human born of dust

To harbor pride, harshness, and arrogance.

With such fervor and rebelliousness in you,

I do not think you are made of earth but of fire.

In the land of Bilqan, I met a worshipper,

I said: Purify me from ignorance through guidance.

He said: Go and be tolerant like the earth, O scholar,

Or bury all that you have learned.
