Sin is reprehensible from whomever it occurs, and even worse from scholars; for knowledge is the weapon of war against Satan, and when the possessor of the weapon is taken captive, the shame is greater.

A common ignorant person has a troubled life,

Better than a scholar who is not abstinent.

For that one fell off the path through blindness,

While this one had two eyes and fell into a well.
