Wisdom No. 63: Whoever is not provided for in his lifetime, his name will not be mentioned when he dies.
حکمت شماره ۶۳: هر که در زندگانی نانش نخورند، چون بمیرد نامش نبرند.
Whoever is not given bread during their lifetime will not be remembered after their death.
هر که در زندگانی نانش نخورند، چون بمیرد نامش نبرند.
The pleasure of grapes is known by a widow, not the owner of the orchard.
لذت انگور بیوه داند نه خداوند میوه.
Joseph the Righteous, peace be upon him, did not eat his fill during the famine in Egypt so that he would not forget the hungry.
یوسف صدیق علیه السلام در خشکسال مصر سیر نخوردی تا گرسنگان فراموش نکند.
He who has lived in comfort and luxury,
How will he know the state of a hungry person?
آن که در راحت و تنعم زیست
او چه داند که حال گرسنه چیست
The state of the helpless is known by one
Who has been helpless himself.
حال درماندگان کسی داند
که به احوال خویش در ماند
O you who ride on a swift steed, be mindful
That the poor thorn-carrying donkey is in water and mud.
ای که بر مرکب تازنده سواری هش دار
که خر خارکش مسکین در آب و گل است
Do not seek fire from the house of a poor neighbor,
For what passes through their window is the smoke of their heart.
آتش از خانهٔ همسایهٔ درویش مخواه
کآنچه بر روزن او میگذرد دود دل است
