حکمت شماره ۸۳: هر که در پیش سخن دیگران افتد تا مایه فضلش بدانند، پایه جهلش معلوم کند.
Whoever interrupts the speech of others in order to show off their own knowledge reveals the foundation of their ignorance.
هر که در پیش سخن دیگران افتد تا مایهٔ فضلش بدانند، پایهٔ جهلش معلوم کند.
A wise man does not give an answer
Unless he is asked.
ندهد مرد هوشمند جواب
مگر آن گه کز او سؤال کنند
Even if the content of the speech is correct,
It will be considered a claim of the impossible (boasting).
گرچه بر حق بود مزاج سخن
حمل دعویش بر محال کنند
