Section 1: In the orchard, as the cypress raises its branches

When the cypress in the garden raises its branch

Its green branch tip emerges from the palace

The tree is happy with its height

When it sees it, being wise and fortunate

It is fitting if one speculates about three things

What is it also, if you pass these three?

Art is with lineage and with essence

There are three things and all three are interconnected

How can there be art if there is no essence?

You have seen many of noble birth without art

Essence is that which is from the glory of God

It does not reach for evil and does not hear evil

Lineage is that which is from the father's seed

It is fitting that it comes from pure seed

If you learn art from anyone

You strive and endure much of its hardship

From these three, essence is the source

Which is the beautiful gift of the Creator

When you find all three, you need wisdom

You need to recognize good and evil

When these four come together in one person

He rests from greed, suffering, and sorrow

Except for death, for there is no remedy for death itself

And worse than this, there is no evil fate

The world-seeker is free from these four evils

His fortune is always made from above

The eloquent speaker tells this story

He also tells from the words of the ancients

Now I return to the beginning of the matter

How was the conduct of that king

When he placed the crown of greatness on his head

The crown was happy with him and he was also happy

Everywhere he made ruins prosperous

He freed the hearts of the sorrowful from sorrow

From the spring cloud, dew rained down

From the face of the earth, it erased the rust of sorrow

The world became full of greenery and flowing water

The heads of the sorrowful fell into sleep

The earth became adorned like a paradise

Full of wealth from justice and generosity

Like Jamshid and Fereydun, he adorned the throne

The king did not rest from justice and generosity

The world became full of goodness and security

The hand of Ahriman was bound from evil

Messengers came from every side

From every noble and every hero

Then news came towards midday

To the commander who illuminates the world

That the king from Turan reached Iran

He sat upon the throne that befitted him

Rostam prepared to meet the king

To see if the throne is beautiful

With Zal, son of Sam, son of Nariman, together

All the nobles of Kabul, both great and small

An army that made the plain like ebony

Tore every ear with the sound of drums

They took the road towards the city of Iran

Zavareh, Faramarz, elephants, and army

In the front, Zal with his assembly

The purple banner behind the elephant riders

Then news came to the king

That a heroic rider came from the way

Zavareh, Faramarz, and Dastan Sam

Nobles who are with glory and name

The king's heart became happy with that speech

He said to the singer, 'May we remain prosperous'

For he is the Lord of fathers

And from him is art revealed in the world

He ordered Giev, Godarz, and Tus to go

They went with brass trumpets and drums

The drumbeat rose from the king's court

All the warriors put on their helmets

An army rose from their places

They prepared to receive him

They received him from flank to flank

All with banners and drums

They went before him for two days' journey

Such heroes and so many armies

When Tahmtan's banner appeared

Dust rose to the sun from the army

A roar came and the wail of trumpets and drums

From the heart of the army, Giev, Godarz, and Tus

They drove the elephant rider forward

They joyfully praised him

All three embraced him

Shiravzhan asked about the king

From Rostam, they came towards Zal, son of Sam

They came with open hearts and joyful

They turned towards Faramarz

They rejoiced at seeing him

And from that place, they came towards the king

They came to see the fortunate crowned one

When Khosrow saw the elephant rider

His tears dripped from his eyelashes onto his face

He descended from the throne and praised him

Tahmtan kissed the ground

He said to Rostam, 'O hero'

May you always be happy and bright-spirited

In the world, you are wise and silent

For you are the guardian of Siavash

Zal then took his head to his chest

He put his hand on his head for his father's sake

He seated the warriors on the majestic throne

He recited the name of God upon them

Rostam looked at his head and feet

He sat and looked at his speech and opinion

His face became bloody and his heart full of pain

He remembered much about Siavash's deeds

He said to the king of the world, 'O king'

You are the world's memorial of your father

I have not seen a crowned one in the world

With this glory and likeness to his father

And then, when they rose from the throne

They set the table and arranged the wine

The world ruler did not sleep until midnight

He recounted all the past words
