Now, O eloquent one with an awakened mind,

Adorn a delightful tale.

When speech is equated with wisdom,

The soul of the poet finds peace.

One whose thoughts are unpleasant,

His opinion is based on that unpleasantness.

He crucifies himself (makes himself miserable)

He disgraces himself before the wise.

But no one sees his own faults (gazelle)

All of your own habits seem clear to you.

If justice must remain in place,

From now on, adorn it and show it to the wise.

When the wise approve, it becomes approved,

Like a reflection in the water of your stream.

Now, a tale from the words of the farmer,

You read and tell it to the righteous.

These stories have become old from me,

They are constantly renewed in gatherings.

If life is long and extended,

I will remain joyful in this way for a long time.

A fruit-bearing tree will remain from me,

Whose fruit boasts upon the meadow.

After he showed fifty-eight (years),

Many wonders passed over his head.

Greed does not decrease with the years,

He constantly seeks his fortune through calendars and omens.

What did that Mobad (Zoroastrian priest) say before?

That what has become old will never become new.

As much as you speak, be a speaker,

Be wise and a seeker of the world.

When you depart, your affair is with God,

Whether your place is good or bad.

See what you sow, that you will reap,

Whatever you say, that you will hear.

The soft-spoken one hears no harshness from anyone,

Seek nothing but goodness in this world.

Now, return to the words of the farmer,

See what the poet (man) says.
