Section 13: A pitch-black night, the moon hidden
A pitch-black night, the moon hidden
Inside the sleep, birds, beasts, and animals
Thus, the leader Piran saw in a dream
That a candle was lit from the sun
Siavash, with a sword in his hand upon the candle
Said aloud, "It is not right to sit still,"
Free your head from this sweet sleep
Remember one thing from the end of the world
That it is a day of new customs and a new celebration
The night of the feast of the noble Kai Khosrow
The commander trembled in his sweet sleep
Golshahr, who shone like the sun, stirred
Piran said to him, "Arise and go,"
Go gracefully before Farangis
I saw Siavash now in a dream
More radiant than the sun upon the sky
Who said to me, "How long will you sleep? Do not wait,"
Come to the celebration of Kai Khosrow, the world-seeker
Golshahr went towards the moon
Who had been separated from the king, the moon
She saw and returned quickly with joy
At the same time, the world became full of sound
She came with joy and said to Piran
That this is a pair of sun and moon according to custom
Come in and see the wonder
The greatness and opinion of the world's creator
You would say it is not fitting except for the crown
Or the armor and helmet and plunder
The commander came to the king
He made many praises and scattered them upon him
For that height and stature and that branch and mane
You would say years have passed over him
His two eyes full of tears for Siavash
He cursed Afrasiab
Thus he said to the famous assembly
That even if my soul is severed from this speech
I will not allow anyone to lay a hand on this king
Even if he delivers me into the jaws of a whale
At the time when the sun-faced one appeared
The dark-hearted one's head fell into sleep
When the army's champion awoke
He came running to the king
He waited until the place was cleared
He approached that famous throne
He said to him, "O sun-shining, greater one,"
World-holder, awake, and enchanter
Last night, a servant was added to the door
You would say that wisdom has been given to him
No one remains in goodness except you
You would say that he is just on the king's throne
If the day would return to Tur
You would need to see his face
You would say that Fereydun is in his place
In glory and in face and in hand and in foot
No painter will see anyone like him in the palace
The king's glory was renewed by him
Cleanse your heart from evil thoughts
Raise your crown and raise your heart
The world-creator made it so clear
That war and injustice and vengeance were दूर from it
His soul was in pain from the blood of Siavash
He brought a cold sigh to his lips
He became ashamed of what he had done
He had been hurt by idle talk
He said to him, "I, from this newcomer, many
Have heard words from everyone
The days are full of turmoil and war because of him
I remember everything from the teacher
That from the lineage of Tur and from Keykavous
A king will raise his head with lineage
The world will need his kindness
All the city of Turan will pray to him
Now, whatever was meant to be, has been
Grief and suffering and thought are of no use
Do not keep him among the group
Send him to the shepherds on the mountain
So that he does not know who I myself am
Why I have entrusted him to them
He will not learn wisdom or lineage from anyone
He will not remember the past deeds
He said what came to his mind from these words
He considered this old house all new
What will you do, since the solution is not in your hands?
It is long in the palate and not in your power
If now you see evil from the times
He will also be a teacher in goodness
The champion came to the door, happy
In his heart, he had good thoughts about everything
He began to worship the world creator
He began to praise the king of the world
He was full of thought until he reached the palace
Of what will appear from that suffering and kindness
He summoned the shepherds of Mount Qala
And spoke some words about that child
That you should keep him like a pure soul
The wind and dust should not see him
His days should not be difficult
If his eyes and heart desire (something)
He gave the shepherd many things
He also sent a wet nurse with him
He entrusted that heart and eye to them
The world-seeker, the approved hero
The turning sky also passed over this
Kindness bestowed a face upon Khosrow
When the proud speaker became seven years old
Skill with his lineage whispered secrets
He made a bow from wood and a string from gut
He threw the string's knot from every side
He made an arrow with a feather and arrowhead
In the plain, he made the intention to hunt
When he became ten years old, he became a strong hero
He came to wound boars and bears and wolves
And from that place, he went to lions and leopards
The same bent wood was his instrument of war
Thus, until this time passed
He came by the order of the teacher
The shepherd came in from the mountain and the plain
He lamented and passed near Piran
That I, from this proud, unrestrained lion
Have come to the champion with the herd
First, he hunted deer
He did not seek lions and the fight of leopards
Now, near him, the fight of the roaring lion
Is the same, and the hunting of deer is the same
It should not be that harm comes upon him
The tall champion will hang me
When Piran heard, he laughed and said
Lineage and skill do not remain hidden
He sat upon his horse, stroking its mane
He came to Khosrow, the lion-crusher
He ordered that he be brought before him with kindness
Piran looked upon that glory and face
He embraced him for a long time
He whispered secrets with the pure judge
Keykhosrow, of pure faith, said to him
May the shining land of Turan be yours
Because anyone who does not know you
Will not call you anything but kind
To take a shepherd's son like this in your arms
And you are not ashamed of anyone
The wise man's heart burned for him
His face lit up like fire
He said to him, "O memorial of the great ones,"
Approved and not entrusted to the world
That you are the crown on the head of kings
Who says that you are the son of shepherds?
No one of your essence is a shepherd
And I have much of this story with me
For the young man, he wanted a horse and height
He also wanted the kingly clothes
He strode into the palace together with him
His soul was sad for Siavash
He nurtured him in his embrace
His days turned happily with him
Some time also passed in this way
He held kindness for the king in his mind
On a dark night, at the time of rest and sleep
Someone came from near Afrasiab
In that darkness, he summoned the champion
He spoke many past words
That from evil thoughts, my heart all night
Twisted and from grief, I was about to break
From this child who came from Siavash
You said that my day became unseen
The grandson of Fereydun, raised by shepherds
How does this fit with wisdom and intellect?
If evil is written to me from him
It is not right to pass over it, for it is divine
Since he does not remember past deeds
He will live happily, and we too will be happy
And if he reveals any bad habit
His head must be cut off like his father's
Piran said to him, "O king,"
You yourself need no teacher
A small child like the innocent ones
What sign does he have of past deeds?
Do not think this yourself and do not strive for evil
What did that very wise, intelligent man say?
That the provider is superior to the father
Even if the offspring has affection for the mother
First, make me happy with the pact
Remember one of the oaths of the kings
Fereydun, in justice and on the throne and with the crown
Always kept watch over righteousness
When Afrasiab heard from Piran
The warrior's head came out of sleep
He swore a strong royal oath
By the white day and the azure night
By the creator who created this world
The sky and beasts and animals and souls he created
That no oppression will come to this child from me
Nor will I ever strike him with a sharp blade
Piran kissed the ground and said
O just king, without peer and mate
I am safe from this bond and your oath
Now my soul and body have found peace
And from there, he came running to Khosrow
With a crimson face and a happy heart
He said to him, "Banish worry from your heart,"
When he brings battle, make his answer a feast
Do not go before him except in madness
Do not turn your tongue except in estrangement
Do not turn in any way towards wisdom
Perhaps this one day will pass over you
He placed the Kayan crown upon his head
He fastened the Kayan belt around his waist
He wanted a fine, swift-footed horse
That pure-minded speaker sat upon it
He came to the court of Afrasiab
The world had filled its eyes with tears for him
He came forward and said, "Open the way,"
That a newcomer has come before the court
The heroic king went forward
The commander Piran led him forward
He came near Afrasiab
The نیا's face became full of tears from his shame
At that kingly mane and his claws
At that branch and that glory and his throne
He looked for a moment and saw well
The color of his face began to disappear
The champion's body became trembling like a willow
Hope was severed from the pure young soul
For a moment, he was like that, then his face opened
Time brought kindness into his heart
He asked, "O newly arrived youth,"
What knowledge do you have of the world's affairs?
What do you do among the sheep?
How do you entrust the earth?
He answered thus, "There is no hunting,"
I myself have no bow and feathered arrow
He asked him again about his teacher
About good and evil and the turning of the times
He said to him, "In the place where the leopard is,"
It tears the hearts of the sharp-clawed people
Thirdly, he asked him about his mother and father
About the palace and the city and food and sleep
He answered thus: "A tearing lion
Will not bring a fighting dog under (his power)
Khosrow laughed at his words
And turned his face towards the army's champion
He said to him, "This one has no heart in its place,"
I ask him about the head, and he brings the answer from the foot
Indeed, good and evil do not come from him
The vengeful people were not like this
Go, entrust this one well to his mother
Into the hands of a pious man
Send him to the side of Siavash's hero
Do not bring the evil teacher near him at all
From horse and servant and more and less
Give whatever is needed from treasure and money
The commander hastened a little over this
He took him out from before Afrasiab
He came to his own palace, lit up
Striding and his evil eye cast (on him)
He said, "From the just creator,"
A new tree has come to bear fruit for the world
He opened the old treasures
He prepared everything of every kind for the king
From dinar and brocade and sword and gem
From horse and weapon and hat and belt
Also from the throne and from bags of money
From carpets and from more and less
He sent them towards that city
Where all of it had become a thorn forest
Farangis and Keykhosrow arrived there
Many people appeared from every side
They entrusted the land one by one to their eyes
The tongues of beasts and animals full of praise
Everyone who had skill said
Thanks to the just judge of the world
That from that uprooted auspicious tree
Such a strong branch has grown
May the evil eye be far from the Kayan king
May the soul of Siavash be full of light
All the soil of that city became happy
Grass on the meadow became a free cypress tree
From the soil that drank the blood of Siavash
A tree rose from the dust into the cloud
His face was painted on the leaves
All the scent of musk came from his love
He was a moon-like sign of spring
He was a place of worship for the mourners
Such is the way of this old hag (referring to the world/fortune)
It takes the milk of the breast from the child
When the heart's affection is attached to the world
It suddenly brings his head into the dust
You should not seek from it anything but happiness
Do not smell the leaf of sorrow in the garden of the world
Whether you have a crown or are in need
You will not see the delay of time
Do not grieve your soul, for this house is not yours
Except for the narrow coffin, there is no place for you
What is the point of storing, sit down to eat
In the hope of the treasure of the world-creator
When he came near the tip of sixty swords (years old)
Do not give wine, for the man has become intoxicated from age
Age has given me a staff instead of reins
Wealth has scattered and the state has changed
The same watchman on the mountain top
Does not see the king's army
He does not know how to pull the reins from the enemy
Unless the spear comes before his eyelashes
The swift-footed horse that gallops
The same malevolent finger tied it (the horse) to a bond
The same ear became satiated from his voice
His is both the melody of the nightingale and the roar of the lion
When I lifted the cup of fifty-eight (years old)
I do not take except the memory of the coffin and the basin
Alas for that flower and musk and thirty (measures) of sweet water
The dust of the wild rose and pheasant does not turn
It wants the flower of the pomegranate tree and the branch of the cypress
I ask from the luminous creator
That I may find so much time from the times
That from this famous ancient book
I may leave one story in the world
That whoever gives justice in speech
They will not remember me except for good
Know that my world is also a seeker
That it is with a sharp sword and with a crown
I am a servant of the Prophet's household
The composer of the dust of the successor's foot
I was born on this and I will also pass away on this
Know that I am the dust of Haidar's foot
I have no business with others
There is no speech in this matter
Now return to the speech of the peasant
Look and see what the composing man says
