Section 18: Many hardships they have seen from the world
Many sufferings they have seen from the world
They have endured for the sake of greatness
Ultimately, the bed is nothing but dust
Its share is poison, not antidote
Since you know you won't stay here long
Why do you place the crown of greed on your head?
You will bring that very greed under the earth
You will bring its head into the abyss
Your joy from this world is enough
Where your suffering is for someone else
You suffer, and someone else eats easily
He doesn't look towards your grave and coffin
His joy will also come to an end
His head will also go under the dust
Think about the passage of days
Make worshiping the just your profession
Fear God and do not harm anyone
This is the path to salvation, and that's it
Now, O wise, awakened heart
Do not be in doubt, withdraw your foot from the mud
Your creator is your Lord
You are a servant and the creation of the creator
When you bow your neck in thought
Do not question and judge existence
Eating and sleeping are not appropriate with one who
Is not content with the God who exists
His heart is blind, his head is unwise
The wise do not consider him among people
There is a sign of existence on water and earth
Do not bury his mind in the abyss of knowledge
He is the powerful, the knowing, and the possessor
He is the creator of intellect and soul
He created the world, space, and time
For the sake of the small mosquito and the heavy elephant
When the leader of the Turks said in his heart, 'I'
I will raise my head above the assembly in superiority
Thus he killed the young prince
He knew nothing but treasure and a sword behind him
From his descendants, the radiant Creator
Brought forth a tree, stretching with fruit
Who told him that there is someone besides you
That in the world, his Creator is sufficient
The Lord of the sun, Saturn, and the moon
From whom is victory and power
The Lord of being and also truth
Does not want from you crookedness and deficiency
There is no way except His will and command
The sun and moon are not aware of this knowledge
Old Goudarz ordered his son
To go to Turan, the task being unavoidable
At his command, Giv tied his waist
And came like a roaring lion
He galloped until he reached the border of Turan
Anyone he saw alone on the way
He adorned his tongue with Turkish
And asked him for news of Keykhosrow
When he said, 'I have no news of the king'
He quickly emptied his body of life
He hung him with the loop of his lasso
And quickly scattered dust over him
So that no one would know his secret
And would not hear his name and voice
He took one with himself
Who was his guide from that assembly
He went awake with him on the way
He did not reveal his secret to him for some time
One day he said to him, 'In the world'
I will ask you a secret question'
If I find truth from you
You will wash your heart clean of shortcomings with knowledge
I will give you whatever you want from me
I will not withhold my valuable self from you
He answered, 'Knowledge is enough'
But it is scattered with everyone
If what I ask has information
You will not find your tongue empty of response
He said to him, 'Where is Keykhosrow now?'
You must reveal the truth to me
He answered, 'I have not heard'
I have never asked such a name'
When he received such an answer from the guide
He struck with his sword and threw him down
He went to Turan like a lion
Perhaps he would find a sign of the king somewhere
Thus seven years passed in this way
His waist worn out from sword and leather straps
His food was wild ass, and his clothing from wild ass skin
His horse eating grass and drinking salty water
He wandered around deserts and mountains
In hardship and difficulty, and far from the group
It happened that one day he was very thoughtful
In front of him was a fruitful grove
He entered that meadow gloomy
The world was joyful, and the man's heart was in sorrow
He saw green ground and a spring full of water
He saw a place of rest and sleep
He dismounted and left his horse
He slept, and kept thoughts in his heart
He said, 'It seems that the evil demon'
Was bad for the hero who saw that dream
I see no sign of Keykhosrow here
Why am I dragging myself along?
Now if my friends are in battle
My comforters are in feast
One seeking fame, and one happy
My fate scatters nuts on the dome
I scatter my soul in vain
My back is bent like a bow
It seems that Khosrow was not born from a mother
And if he was born, time gave him to the wind
Searching brings me only pain and hardship
Fortunate is he who dies by poison
His head full of sorrow, he wandered around that meadow
Seeking the king
He saw a shining spring from afar
A cypress-tall, heart-soothing youth
Holding a cup full of wine in his hand
With a bunch of fragrance and color on his head
From his height, divine glory
Appeared, and the banner of wisdom
You would say Manuchehr sat on an ivory throne
With a turquoise crown on his head
The scent of love came from his face
The beauty of the crown came from his hair
Giv said in his heart, 'This is none other than the king'
Such a face is worthy of the throne
He quickly walked towards him on foot
When he came close, he said, 'O seeker of the king!'
The knot loosened at the door of his suffering
His famous treasure appeared
When Keykhosrow saw him from the spring
He laughed, and his heart blossomed with joy
He said in his heart, 'This hero is none other than Giv'
There is no other sign like this in this land
He will ask for me
To take me to Iran to make me king
When Giv came to him, he bowed in prayer
He said to him, 'O famous exalted one'
I believe that you are the son of Siavash
From the lineage of Kayanians and Keykhosrow
The king answered him thus
That you are Giv, son of Goudarz, O famous one
Giv said to him, 'O leader of the righteous'
Who told you the story of Goudarz?
Who informed you of Kashvad and Giv?
May you be with joy and glory
Keykhosrow said to him, 'O brave man'
My mother reminded me of this from my father
That by the glory of God, you opened your speech
When his advice came to an end
He said to my famous mother
What evil will come upon me from here?
Eventually, Keykhosrow will appear
He will bring the key to the bonds
When he becomes the new world ruler
The exalted Giv will come from Iran
He will take him to the throne of Iran
He will take him to the presence of the famous and the lions
He will bring the world to its feet with bravery
And he will avenge our blood
Giv said to him, 'O leader of the rebels'
What sign do you have of the glory of greatness?
The sign of Siavash was visible
Like a black spot on a rose garden
You open and show me your arm
Your sign is visible to the assembly
The king showed his bare body
Giv looked at that black mark
Which was an inheritance from the time of Keyqobad
The lineage of the Kayanians was confirmed by that
When Giv saw that sign, he bowed in prayer
He shed tears and spoke secrets
The king of the earth embraced him
And blessed him with joy
He asked about Iran, the throne, and the palace
About Goudarz and Rostam the well-wisher
Giv said to him, 'O world-ruling king'
Exalted, awake, and auspicious-footed
The world-holder, possessor of good and evil
If you had shown me all of paradise
And the seven climes with kingship
Having placed greatness and the crown of majesty
My heart would not have been this joyful
That I saw your face in the land of Turan
Who knows in the world that I am alive?
Whether I am in the ground or thrown into the fire
Thanks to the world-holder that this hard suffering
Fate brought to an end with joy and goodness
They both left that grove on their way
Khosrow asked about King Kavus
And about his seven-year sorrow and pain
About his bedding, sleep, and food
He spoke to the king all at once
About what the creator of the world had laid the foundation
About the dream of Goudarz and the long suffering
Food, clothing, pain, rest, and comfort
About Kavus, whose glory fell for years
He became helpless from the pain of his son
The color and scent of Iran were scattered
It turned entirely to ruin
Khosrow's heart burned from his pain and suffering
His face shone like fire
He said to him, 'Now from the long suffering'
Fate will bring you rest and comfort'
Be like a father to me and tell no one
See what time brings forth
The commander sat on Giv's horse
And the new one walked on foot before him
Holding an Indian sword in his hand
Anyone who came forward without delay
Giv, with an awake heart, struck his neck
And buried his body under mud and earth
They went towards Siavash's tomb
When the hearts and minds of the two came together
They also made Farangis their ally
And secretly planned their work
That all three would set out on the way
Secretly from the quarrelsome heroes
Farangis said, 'If we delay'
We will make the world narrow for ourselves'
Afrasiab will find out about this
He will not rest in eating or sleep
He will come like the White Demon
The heart will be hopeless of the sweet life
None of us will remain alive in the world
No one will see us, openly or secretly
The world is full of ill-wishers and enemies
All our borders are the place of Ahriman
You, O blessed king, my son
See that you listen to my advice
That if that evil man finds out
He will kindle fire from the prosperous land
There is a meadow not far from here
On one side of the road of the Turan riders
It is the same stream and flowing water
That the soul is refreshed by seeing it
You take the saddle and black bridle
Go towards those meadows at dawn
When the sun is on the edge of the dome
It is time for the commander to sleep and eat
All the herds that are in that meadow
Will come to the stream to drink
Show the saddle and bridle to Behzad
When he is tamed, you take a step
When you come to him, show your face well
Adorn and rub his face with love
When Siavash became hopeless of the world
The face of the white day became dark for him
Thus Shabrung said to Behzad
That do not obey the wind from now on
Remain on the mountain and in the meadow
When Keykhosrow comes to ask for you
Be his mount and trample the world
Sweep the earth from the enemy with your hooves
The new leader sat on his horse
And Giv walked on foot before him
They set out towards that high hill
As people seeking a solution would
When they came to the top of the narrow pass
They ate and drank their fill and turned back
Behzad looked and saw the king
He drew a cold breath from his heart
He saw that leopard-like seat of Siavash
Long stirrups and an arrow's bow
He kept his feet in the watering place
He did not move his hand from where it was
When Keykhosrow found him calm
He walked and rushed towards him with the saddle
He rubbed his hand and face on his eyes
He rubbed his chest and mane and combed his hair
He gave him the bridle and placed the saddle
He remembered his father with much pain
When he sat on the horse, he pressed his thighs
That heavy horse rose from its place
He blew like the wind in the air
He leaped and disappeared from Giv
Giv's heart became sad and he remained astonished
In that astonishment, he called the name of God
He said, 'Ahriman, the seeker of tricks'
Became a horse and showed his face
Now Khosrow's life is gone, and my suffering
This very suffering was my treasure in the world
When the king cut through half of that mountain
He pulled back that black rein heavily
He stayed until Giv went before him
Thus said the awake-hearted new king
That it is possible that the hero's thought
I make clear to the bright soul
Giv said to him, 'O exalted king'
It is fitting that the secret be revealed to you
You, from the divine glory and greatness of the Kayanians
You will come into the hair and see the middle
He said to him, 'From this auspiciously bred horse'
A thought came to your mind
Such was the hero's thought
That Ahriman came to this youth
Now he is gone and turned my suffering to wind
He made my happy heart very unhappy
Giv, the world-experienced, dismounted from his horse
He blessed the new king
May your days and nights be auspicious
May the heads of your ill-wishers be cut off
That with greatness, majesty, wisdom, and glory
The judge gave you art with essence
They set out from the height to the palace
With thoughtful minds and seeking the way
When they went back to Farangis
They spoke for a while about the long journey
So that their work would be secret
No one would be aware of their secret
When Farangis saw Behzad's face
Her face disappeared from the tears of her eyes
She placed her two cheeks on his mane and chest
She remembered Siavash a lot from pain
When she scattered the water of her two eyes
She lightly went towards the filled treasure
She had a hidden treasure in the palace
No one in the world was aware of it
It was a treasure filled with dinars
There were armors and many rubies
The same treasure of maces and armor
The same daggers, swords, and heavy maces
She opened the door of the treasure before her son
Her face full of blood from the pain of a wounded liver
She said to Giv, 'O sufferer'
See what gems you want from the treasure
From dinars and royal jewels
From rubies and gem-studded crowns
The hero kissed the ground before her
He said to her, 'O chief of ladies'
We are all guards, and the treasure is yours
Sacrificing life and suffering is yours
The earth becomes the spring of paradise from you
The sky gives birth to good and evil from you
May the world be a servant to your son
May the heads of his ill-wishers be thrown down
When Giv's eyes fell upon the goods
He chose the armor of the new Siavash
From the gems that they found more valuable
They took as much as they could carry
The same helmet and valuable armor
Weapons that were from the hero's door
The king secured the top of the treasure
And prepared for the desert road
When this was done, they placed the saddle
On those swift horses with blessings
Farangis placed a helmet on her head
All three went like the wind
They set their heads warmly towards Iran
Secretly, as was softly possible
The whole city became full of talk
That Khosrow has set his face towards Iran
This word did not remain hidden for a moment
Someone came and told Piran
That the exalted Giv has come from Iran
To the awake-hearted new king
They have set their faces towards the city of Iran
Farangis, the king, and Giv, the war-seeker
When Piran heard, he became very sad
He trembled like a leaf of a tree
From the warriors, he chose Kalbad
Like Nastihan and the steel hero
He ordered three hundred Turkish riders
To go quickly to that battle
He said, 'Make Giv's head on a spear'
Farangis should be buried in the ground
Bind the evil Keykhosrow
The evil-starred one, his followers, land, and home
An army of such heroes and young men
The two awake heroes went
Farangis with her suffering son
Had put their heads to sleep
From traveling the road and the suffering of the night
Giv was the guard for the world-seeker
Two were asleep, and Giv with suffering and anger
Had set his two eyes on the riders' path
Giv's horse in armor
As was the equipment of new men
Armor on his chest and a helmet on his head
Heart joyful and body given to death
When he saw the dust of the army from afar
He struck his hand and drew his sword from his waist
He let out a cry like thunder
That the brain and eyes of the lion became dark
He came among the riders like dust
From his quarrel, the earth became lapis lazuli
Sometimes with a dagger, sometimes with a mace
He was pouring iron from the height of the hill
From the wound of Giv's brave mace
The heads of the leaders were turning away from the war
Giv's heart laughed from the force of anger
That the sea was like a spring in his eyes
After that, they took him in their midst
Such an army like a roaring lion
The battlefield became a reed bed of spears
The sight of the sun and moon was covered
The lion's heart became sad in the reed bed
He made the reed bed like a wine garden with blood
Giv threw down many of them
Those riders became weary of the new one
Kalbad said to the hero Nastihan
That this is a rocky mountain, not a mane and armor
All wounded and bound, they returned
To the proud Piran
All the caves and plains were full of slain
The earth was like arghavan from blood
When the brave one came near Keykhosrow
Chest and claws full of blood like a lion
He said to him, 'O king, keep your heart happy'
Free your wisdom from thought
An army came to fight us
Like Kalbad and Nastihan, the sharp-clawed
Those who lived returned in such a way
That one must weep for their manes and chests
Except for Rostam, a rider in Iran
I do not know who can fight me
Khosrow, the pure-faith, became happy from him
He praised him greatly and blessed him
They ate something they found
They hurried towards the road, without a road
When the Turks came near Piran
They came so wounded, wretched, and weeping
Piran became angry and said to Kalbad
That such a wonder cannot be hidden
What did you do with Giv, and where is Khosrow?
Tell the truth, how is the matter?
Kalbad said to him, 'O hero'
If I open my tongue before you
What the brave Giv did to the warriors
Your heart will be satiated on the battlefield
You have seen me many times in the army
You have also approved of my battle
Indeed, more than a thousand maces
That famous one took from my hand
His head, you would say, has become an anvil
His chest and forearms have become elephant tusks
I have seen many of Rostam's battles
And have also heard from warriors
I have not seen such a steadfast one in his blows
Neither in the effort and twists of battle
He was always sharp and boiling
Like a new elephant, he was roaring
Piran became angry and said to him, 'Enough'
It is shameful to mention this to anyone
This much talk is not from one rider
Do not intend to bring men
You went, and the famous Nastihan
An army like male lions
Now you have made Giv a drunken elephant
Your name has become low among the heroes
When Afrasiab becomes aware of this
He will throw away that imperial crown
That two brave and mounted heroes
Such an army from the door of battle
You turned your backs before one rider
He killed many of the brave Turks
You will have many witnesses with mockery
You are not a man of battle, mace, and drum
