Like sixty-three from the lineage of Gazdaham
Their nobles and leader was Gostaham

From the relatives of Milad, there were one hundred riders
Like Gorgin the victorious, the wealthy

It was such that the Mobad did not know
From so many famous men with height and glory
They wrote their names in the king's register
All their names until when they would be needed
He ordered them to go out of the city
To go from the side to the plain and desert
At the beginning of the month, from the trumpet
A roar should come and the beat of the Indian drum

All should set their heads towards the battle of Turan
All should set joy and feasts

They placed their heads on the ground before him
All one by one recited praise
That we are servants and kingship is yours
From Taurus to Pisces is yours
To the place where they were with unsaddled horses
He brought the whole herd to the army camp
He ordered that whoever is a lasso thrower
Is a warrior and iron-bodied in battle

They should throw the lasso before the rampart
They should throw the heads of the swift-footed into bondage

He opened the treasure of dinars and said
That treasure should not be hidden from the nobles
In the time of the king's generosity and vengeance
The treasure of dinars becomes a feast for the eyes
We bring treasure and thrones to men
We bring the fruit of trees to the sun
Why should one bear the sorrow of time
When treasure comes to use for people
The nobles of Iran from the assembly
Sat before him all one by one
He brought a hundred garments of Roman brocade
All adorned with jewels and gold from the land
Also from sable and woven fabric and also brocade
A cup full of jewels in the middle
They placed it before the proud king
Thus spoke the king of the world to the army
This is the price of a priceless head
The executioner, the male dragon of Palashan
Whom Afrasiab calls a hero
In his wakefulness, sleep becomes full
He will bring his head, sword, and horse like dust
To our army camp on the day of battle
Swiftly Bizhan, son of Giev, jumped to his feet
He girded his loins to kill the dragon
He took all the garments and that golden cup
And also some jewels inside the cup
He praised the king greatly
May you be happy as long as time exists
And from there, he came and sat in his place
Holding that jewel cup in his hand
Then the king ordered the treasurer
To bring two hundred gold-embroidered garments
One hundred of sable and brocade and one hundred brocade
Two rose-faced ones with girdles tied around their waists
He said, 'I will give this gift to him'
And after that, I will give him another also
Who brings the crown of Tazhav before me
Or before this famous assembly
Which Afrasiab placed on his head
And called him awake and of fortunate lineage
Again Bizhan, son of Giev, jumped up quickly
Who was like smoke in battle
He reached out his hand and took those gifts
The assembly remained amazed at him
He praised greatly and sat down happily
May the world be prosperous with Keykhosrow
He ordered ten slaves with belts
Ten chosen horses with golden reins
Ten adorned veiled ones
The Mobad brought such a request
Thus spoke the awake king of the herd
That the horses and all these beautiful ones
To him who twists the head of Tazhav
It is fitting if he does not have the heart of a lion-cow
He has a worshipper on the day of battle
From whose voice the leopard becomes tame
With a face like spring and a stature like a cypress
His waist like a young lion and his walk like a pheasant
There is a moon-faced one named Espanvi
Jasmine-bodied, charming, and musk-scented
One should not strike when the sword finds him
For such a face would be a pity from the sword
If he has taken his waist in the bend of his belt
He should bring him to him in that manner
Bizhan reached out his hand to that also
He came to the victorious king
He praised the king of the world
He prayed to the creator of the world
The great king became happy with him
He said, 'O famous and mighty one'
May a hero like you not be a friend to the enemy
May your shining soul not be without a body
The world ruler then said to the treasurer
To bring ten golden cups from the hidden
Scented melon placed in that golden cup
Ten of raw silver with six jewels
A cup full of musk from yellow ruby
Another one from turquoise, one lapis lazuli
Agate and emerald sprinkled on it
Mixed with musk and rosewater
A worshipper with ten slaves with belts
Ten valuable horses with golden reins
He said, 'This gift is for him who had the strength'
Tazhav was in his body on the day of battle
Brought his head to this court
Brought it before the brave army
Giev, son of Godarz, reached out his hand to this
He girded his loins for the battle of that hero
The valuable beauties and that request
They took before him, adorned
He recited praise for the king
May the crown and ring not be without you
And then the king ordered the treasurer
To place ten golden cups before the throne
Pour dinars, musk, and jewels on it
A royal crown with a belt
He said, 'This gift is for him who does not spare effort'
For the sake of fame and treasure
He will go from here to the Kaseh River
He will send greetings to the soul of Siavash
He will see a high mountain of firewood
Its height is more than ten lassos
He wanted that no one should travel that road
That no one should pass from Iran to Turan
A brave man from Iran must go
To set fire to the entire Kaseh River
So that if there is a battlefield there
No army will remain among the firewood
Giev said, 'This hunt is mine'
Setting fire to the mountain is my task
If an army comes, I will not fear battle
In battle, I will bring the vultures to a feast
"I will make the path of the army easy through the snow"
"I will make the hearts of the Turks fearful of it"
The king gave all the request to Giev
He said to him, 'O famous one of the army'
May the crown not be bright without your sword
May it be so and may there be no Brahman without an idol'
He ordered a hundred multi-colored brocades
That the treasurer should bring without delay
Also from the treasure, he sought a hundred pearls
That were like frozen water, you would say truly
He brought five attendants from behind the curtain
Their curly heads disappeared from the crown
He said, 'This gift is worthy of him'
Whose wisdom is the king over his pure soul
He is brave, insightful, and eloquent
He does not turn his face away from the lion in battle
He will take a message to Afrasiab
From fear of him, he will not bring water to his eyes
He will bring me an answer from his words
That you know from this famous assembly
Gorgin, son of Milad, reached out his hand
He girded his loins to go on that path
The attendants and those gold-embroidered garments
He brought with royal jewels
He praised the king and said
May wisdom be paired with the soul of Khosrow
When the face of the earth became like the wing of a raven
The light came from the top of the mountain
The commander came to his palace
The warriors went to their homes
He brought wine and called the musicians
All night he scattered gold and jewels
When the mountain became like sandalwood from the day
The crow of the rooster came into the cloud
Tahmtan came to the king's court
The talk went of the Turks and the crown and throne
Zavareh, son of Faramarz, with him together
Went discussing everything, great and small
Thus Rostam said to the king of the earth
O famous one with praise
In Zavolestan there was a city
From that land, Tur had a share
Manuchehr emptied it of the Turks
It is a good place with glory
When Kavus became disheartened and old
The name of kingship and glory fell from him
They take tribute and gifts to Turan
They look down on the king of Iran
There are many elephants and treasures in that land
The bodies of the innocent suffer from them
From so much killing, looting, and raiding
Raising their heads from paying tribute to the Turks
Now the kingship of Iran is yours
The body of elephants and the claws of lions are yours
A large army is needed now
To send with a mighty hero
If they bring tribute near the king
Or bring their heads to this court
When we bring that entire border under our control
We will bring defeat to the land of Turan
The king gave such an answer to Rostam
May you be eternal, for this is the way
See how much army is needed
Choose from this famous army
The land that is connected to your border
The value of the land is worthy of your worth
Give Faramarz a heavy army
As is needed from warriors
His work will be accomplished by his hand
His sixty will reach the desire of the whales
The hero's face became radiant from that
He recited many praises for the king
Khosrow ordered the master of the court
To request a feast from the cook
He brought wine and called the musicians
He was amazed by the sound of the nightingale
The nobles with Faramarz and the elephant rider
Drank wine on the jasmine
Roaring flute and resounding harp
A bouquet of fragrance and color in hand
All fresh-faced and all happy-hearted
Freed from pain and sorrows
They spoke of all kinds of things
They recited many stories of kings
That whoever gave justice in his kingship
Will be happy in both worlds from his deeds
Also the unjust king in the world
Will be condemned by the great ones
A bad name will remain from him in the world
Also, a bad end before God
Whoever has no profession but justice
No one else is as happy as him in both worlds
When the shining sun rose from the mountain
The singer became tired of speaking
The drum sounded from the king's court
They drew up ranks at the court
They tied an iron saddle on the elephant
The bellowing of the ox-tail rose
They placed a throne on the elephant's hump
That royal tree came into the court
The king came and sat on the elephant
With a jewel-studded crown on his head
A necklace full of royal jewels
Two earrings hanging from the crown
He struck a bead on the hump of the shaggy elephant
The ground became like the Nile Sea
From sword and mace and drum and dust
The earth became black, the sky lapis lazuli
You would say the sun is in a trap
Or the bend of the sky turned into water
The bright eye could not see the reins
The sky and stars could not see the spearhead
When a wave rose from the still sea
The army came in wave after wave
They took the tents from the palace to the plain
The sky became agitated from the roaring
The elephant stepped in the middle of the army
With golden bells and golden reins
A bead in a cup in the king's hand
The roar of the army reached Saturn
When that famous king was on the elephant's back
He struck the bead on the cup and tightened his belt
It was not fitting for kingship
To sit except at the door of the king
From that famous rebellious king
This was the sign in kingship
He was on the elephant in the wide plain
So that the army would pass before him
First, Fariborz was in front
Who passed before the new world ruler
With mace and crown and golden shoes
Behind him, a sun-bodied banner
Riding a strong steed
With a lasso coiled on the saddle strap
He went with the wind and with height and glory
His army all drowned in silver and gold
The king of the world praised him
May you have greatness and the glory of the great ones
May your fortune be victorious in every task
May you return victorious and happy
Then King Godarz of the Kashvad family was
Who was with armor and a steel mace
His banner behind him was a lion
Whose battle was with mace and sword
Raham Niu went on the left
To his right, like the proud Giev
Behind Shidush the hero with the banner
The ground became purple from the lion figures
A thousand behind that proud one
Reiners with long spears
A wolf-figured black banner
Behind Giev with the army
