There was little nourishment at that time

For the food was less than that which could nourish

From each meat of fowl and four-legged beasts

The chef brought them one by one to the place

He raised him in his own house like a lion

He places his heart at his command

He first gave him a dish made from egg yolk

He ate it and praised him greatly

He prepared a dish from the back of a young cow

Inside it were saffron and rosewater

He was astonished by the wise man's act

The cook said to him, O king

May you always live happy and rule supreme

My heart is filled with your love

All the provisions of my soul are from your face

I have one wish near the king

Though I do not have this position

That I may give his shoulder a kiss

Kiss him, place my eyes and face upon him

When Zahhak heard his words

He didn't understand his hidden intentions

He said to him, I have this wish of yours

Your name shall rise in greatness

He commanded that the devil, like his mate

Gave a kiss from his firm shoulder

He kissed and disappeared into the ground

No one in the world had seen such a wonder

Two black serpents rose from his shoulders

He grew blind and sought solutions from every side

Finally, they both were cut from his palms

It would be deserved to stay in such wonder

Like the branches of a tree, those two black serpents

Rose again from the king’s shoulders

Wise doctors gathered around

Each told their own story

They devised every kind of trick

But none could find a cure for the pain

Like a doctor, then Iblis came disguised

He went to Zahhak with wisdom

He said to him, this was a happening work

Stay to see what happens, no salutation

Prepare the food and let them eat in peace

There is no solution other than this

Do not give them anything but the brains of people

Unless they themselves die from this nurturing

Look at what Iblis did from this conversation

What he did and sought in this search

Unless someone solves this in secret
