Kay Kavus came towards Pars (Persia),

He laid the foundation of a world of joy.

He adorned the throne and spread justice,

He set his heart on joy and feasting.

He sent a champion to every side,

A world-ruler, vigilant, and with a bright soul.

To Merv, Nishapur, Balkh, and Herat,

He sent an army to every side.

The world became completely filled with justice,

The wolf turned away from the lamb.

From the abundance of treasure, beauty, and splendor,

Fairies, beasts, and birds became obedient to him.

The great ones became lesser before Kavus,

All the crowned ones became his army.

He entrusted the world's championhood to Rostam,

He considered all times fortunate because of him.

He built a house in the Alborz Mountains,

Where the demons became weary of hardships.

He ordered that they make it from granite stone,

Two houses on it, each ten *kamand* (a unit of measurement).

He finally adorned it within the stone,

With steel nails and granite pillars.

They tied swift warhorses there,

As well as camels that carried litters and found the way.

He built two other houses of glass,

With emeralds inlaid in every part of them.

He built a place for pleasure and feasting,

So that the body would be nourished by food.

Two houses for the weapons of battle,

He ordered that they be made of pure silver.

A golden palace for sitting,

He erected it, giving it a height of two *shost* (a unit of measurement).

The air was amber-scented, and its rain was like wine.

In its veranda, rubies were used,

And turquoise was used for its decorations.

All year round, it was like a bright spring,

The flowers were like the faces of comforters.

His heart was far from pain, sorrow, and suffering,

The body of the demon was afflicted by evil.

Bad times fell asleep (came to an end),

The world learned from goodness and justice.

The demons were caught in his suffering (punishment)

They were wailing from his retribution.
