Ghazal No. 138: The coin of our face should be nothing but gold without you
غزل شماره ۱۳۸: سکه رخسار ما جز زر مبادا بیشما
May the coin of our face not be anything but gold without you
In the depths of the sea of the heart, may there be no pearl without you
سکه رخسار ما جز زر مبادا بیشما
در تک دریای دل گوهر مبادا بیشما
The branches of the garden of joy that are strong, fresh, and moist
May they be dry without you, and may they not be moist without you
شاخههای باغ شادی کان قوی تازهست و تر
خشک بادا بیشما و تر مبادا بیشما
This homay (a mythical bird) of the heart that is accustomed to your shadow
May it not be anywhere but in the midst of the flames of fire without you
این همای دل که خو کردست در سایه شما
جز میان شعله آذر مبادا بیشما
I saw him, sick in soul, I said to him, "How are you? Are you well?"
Tell me, since there is no fruit, may I not be without you
دیدمش بیمار جان را گفتمش چونی خوشی
هین بگو چون نیست میوه برمبادا بیشما
My day shone, O soul, and look at his image
He said, "May my difficult suffering not be better without you"
روز من تابید جان و در خیالش بنگرید
گفت رنج صعب من خوشتر مبادا بیشما
Since you and all creatures are the images of Azar (Abraham)
May the images of Azar and Azar not be without you
چون شما و جمله خلقان نقشهای آزرند
نقشهای آزر و آزر مبادا بیشما
We give the cup of fire, sip by sip, to the liver
That this liver, may its sherbet not be the water of Kauthar without you
جرعه جرعه مر جگر را جام آتش میدهیم
کاین جگر را شربت کوثر مبادا بیشما
A hundred thousand souls were sacrificed for the wine of Alast (the covenant with God)
Reason says, "May that wine in my head not be without you"
صد هزاران جان فدا شد از پی باده الست
عقل گوید کان میام در سر مبادا بیشما
Both worlds, meaning the two universes, gained splendor from your fragrance
In both worlds, may this servant of yours not be a chief without you
هر دو ده یعنی دو کون از بوی تو رونق گرفت
در دو ده این چاکرت مهتر مبادا بیشما
The eye has a hundred wings of light for the sake of seeing you
O you, may both eyes not have even one wing without you
چشم را صد پر ز نور از بهر دیدار توست
ای که هر دو چشم را یک پر مبادا بیشما
Without you, if every hair of ours becomes Sanjar and Khosrow
May Khosrow the king of kings and Sanjar not be without you
بی شما هر موی ما گر سنجر و خسرو شوند
خسرو شاهنشه و سنجر مبادا بیشما
As long as the separation from Shams Tabrizi draws the dagger
May the hands of the rose not be anything but a dagger without you
تا فراق شمس تبریزی همی خنجر کشد
دستهای گل به جز خنجر مبادا بیشما
