Ghazal No. 153: I saw the candle around which moths gather like crowds
I saw a candle, around it butterflies like gatherings
What candle have I seen that candles circle around its light?
When you light the candle, it sheds tears on its cheeks
When he (the beloved) lights up, the lover's face sheds tears
When he begins his sugar-like speech, you will see particles
With ears opened for its hearing
The hopeless ones who have become withered from the times
The warmth of his soul will arouse desires from their souls
If it were not for his grace, there would have been from jealous souls
Prohibitions for me from mentioning his sweet name
The sun of the religion, the chief, the lord of lords in truth
From the beauty of his soul, creations became adorned and glorious
When it occurred to him to show his face to the corporeal ones
The souls of the truthful ones tore their collars from ugliness
The seed of hope that I planted for that sun
May there be a glance from him upon us for the sake of blessings
The shadow of his delicate body is the soul of our souls
O Lord, grant us that shadow for the sake of dispositions
