Ghazal No. 166: A meadow whose flowers may blossom until the resurrection

غزل شماره ۱۶۶: چمنی که تا قیامت گل او به بار بادا

A meadow whose flowers may be in bloom until the قیامت (Day of Judgment)

An idol whose beauty may be sacrificed by both worlds

چمنی که تا قیامت گل او به بار بادا

صنمی که بر جمالش دو جهان نثار بادا

From the time of the prince of the beautiful ones, he struts for hunting

So that our hearts may be hunted by the arrow of his coquetry

ز بگاه میر خوبان به شکار می‌خرامد

که به تیر غمزه او دل ما شکار بادا

What messages are there from his eyes to my two eyes every moment

So that both eyes may be happy and full of languor from his message

به دو چشم من ز چشمش چه پیام‌هاست هر دم

که دو چشم از پیامش خوش و پرخمار بادا

I broke in asceticism, he cursed in prayer

That go, may all your days be restless

در زاهدی شکستم به دعا نمود نفرین

که برو که روزگارت همه بی‌قرار بادا

Neither rest remained nor heart due to his prayer from friendship

That he is thirsty for our blood, may God be his friend

نه قرار ماند و نی دل به دعای او ز یاری

که به خون ماست تشنه که خداش یار بادا

Our body resembles the moon that melts from love

Our heart is like the harp of Venus whose strings are broken

تن ما به ماه ماند که ز عشق می‌گدازد

دل ما چو چنگ زهره که گسسته تار بادا

Do not look at the melting of the moon, at the breaking of Venus

See the sweetness of his sorrow that one of it is a thousand

به گداز ماه منگر به گسستگی زهره

تو حلاوت غمش بین که یکش هزار بادا

What a wedding is in the soul that the world from the reflection of his face

May be like the two hands of newlyweds, fresh and full of designs

چه عروسیست در جان که جهان ز عکس رویش

چو دو دست نوعروسان تر و پرنگار بادا

Do not look at the face of the body that will rot and fall apart

Look at the face of the soul that is beautiful and has a beautiful face

به عذار جسم منگر که بپوسد و بریزد

به عذار جان نگر که خوش و خوش عذار بادا

The dark body is like a crow and the world of the body is winter

That despite these two unpleasant things, it may always be spring

تن تیره همچو زاغی و جهان تن زمستان

که به رغم این دو ناخوش ابدا بهار بادا

That the stability of these two unpleasant things came from the four elements

That the stability of your servants may be other than these four

که قوام این دو ناخوش به چهار عنصر آمد

که قوام بندگانت به جز این چهار بادا
