Ghazal No. 175: From beyond the head, see the manners of the heart
See the ways beyond the secret of the heart
The form of the lovers of Majnun is from these ways
Lovers have a different religion and creed
The origin and the branch and the secret of that religion are these ways
The heart is a tale-teller from the fold of the conscience
Seeking revelation in that fold are these ways
The soul has become without reason and religion from so much that it saw
From that fairy with the new custom are these ways
From the various deceits and tricks of him
The poor ways have lost their way
The curtain holder of our soul narrated a story
From that idol without pride and without malice are these ways
Are the ways from the body or from the soul?
This is strange, without that and without this are these ways
The self-conceited man is drowned in his own way
The self-conceited ways do not see their own soul
Shams Tabrizi made me young again
So that I may see the ways after sixty
