The fish of our souls are seeking protection

From you, O sea of souls, give us to drink

We have come from the path of separation, and we have brought

Our helplessness as a gift, give us to drink

We have heard the stories of kings

You are beyond stories, give us to drink

Reason has fallen into doubt and temptation

Because you are beyond conjecture, give us to drink

What can a half-wise man do with your love?

You are the madness of the wise, give us to drink

The Kaaba of the world has become Tabriz because of you

O Sun of Truth, the Yemeni pillar, give us to drink
