Ghazal No. 203: The joyous spring has come, our beloved has come
Spring has come, joyous spring has come, our beloved has come
Like a hundred thousand jars of sugar by our side
A moon has come whose presence illuminates the assembly of the soul
So that (he) may break our drowsiness with rose-colored wine
You have come joyfully, come, and you have come royally
O cypress of the rose garden, meadow, and tulip field of ours
May you be everlasting, O moon, and may your life be everlasting
In the thicket of the world, for our hunting
The sea is in turmoil because of you, who are a peerless jewel
The mountain is roaring, saying, 'O companion of our cave!'
On the day of the feast, (you are) our cupbearer, the sea of our bestowal
On the day of battle, (you are) the male lion and our Dhu'l-Faqar (sword)
How are you in this exile, and how are you in this journey?
Arise, let us go towards our homeland
We have no rest with musk and wine jars and wine cups
Drag us towards our stream
Towards a fairy-faced one upon whom eyes have settled
(He is) the peace of our intoxicated reason and restless heart
The moon has become melting with a passion like ours
The sun has become a memento of his face
O splendor of our morning and delicate early morning
O successive fortune beyond our counting
However much you are very drunk, do not be weak, take (the cup)
It is effective in whatever you say: our wine and drowsiness
Quickly take a cup like the sun, full of fire
Drink it to the health of our moon-faced king
This remained half-finished, and my heart ceased from its work
He will complete the work, for he is our Lord
