Ghazal No. 208: For the purpose of ambushing, it brings me on the path
For the purpose of guiding, He will lead me on the path
Until He delivers me back into the hands of the robbers
He who strikes down the path of two hundred caravans with every breath
What can I say before Him? What will He bring me to?
I will lose my head and feet, I will tear my heart from the world
If for a moment He does not scratch my head with kindness
He plays the tune well, I dance to it
Love brings forth a new game for me with every breath
Sometimes in jest He tells me to sit in a corner
When I sit in a corner, He Himself brings me out
From the beginning of my present, He makes me fly like a falcon
So that (we may see) what He will seize with me, upon whom He will set me
My aspiration is like thunder, my words are like clouds
A drop falls from my cloud when He squeezes me
My cloud from morning has (its rain) from that sea of justice
So that (we may see) from the thunder and the wind, upon whom He will make me rain
When He makes me rain, He does not make me vain
He will place me back in the hand of a hundred kinds of plants
