Ghazal No. 231: You are lighter than the breeze that comes from the morning wind
You are lighter than the breath that comes from the morning breeze
From (just) breathing, no one becomes full or tired, O soul
From (just) breathing, when does one become tired or when does one become full?
You are that breath that God said (to), 'Give life to the dead!'
The mouth of the grave opens, and (the dead) become its morsel
When the mouth of the body is closed from the breath of revival
Give me more breath, so that my wineskin may become full of wind
So that I may, from your breath, ride upon the sea
May there not be a day when I am without you in the world
So that not a single plant would grow in the entire desert
Suppress this breath, for you have another breath
When this wind departs from the lip, that (other breath) will remain
