Ghazal No. 234: Oh heart, when you have drunk from the remaining cup of the cupbearer
When you have drunk from the cup of the eternal cupbearer, O heart
That you cry out in revelry every moment
Perhaps you heard from Venus, O heart, at the time of dawn
That 'I have prepared a special feast; the call to joy, the call to joy!'
Affliction is correct, drink its affliction and keep raining down (tears)
Why do you flee in the end? Your flight is (itself) affliction
The ascetic, with the cup in his hand, has no fear of the people
He sits among the people, in a state of intoxication
What a cup, that does not even appear in the physical eye
From the hand of the cupbearer of meaning, you too, drink, hail!
