Ghazal No. 297: Oh, in your sorrow, burning and calling
O you, in whose sorrow, with burning and 'O Lord'
The sky has wept all night
If the sky weeps and laughs
That attraction is mostly of the earth
From so much that tears poured on the earth
The earth became perfumed from his tears
From the crying of the sky came
A hundred gardens with laughing creeds
I and the sky were weeping last night
His and my creed is one
From the crying of the sky, what grows?
Flowers and moist violets
And from the crying of lovers, what grows?
A hundred loves within that sugar-lipped one
That eye presses with crying
So that the beloved's double chin is pressed
This crying of the cloud and laughing of the earth
Became a vehicle for you and me
And this crying of ours and laughing of ours
Became arranged for the sake of result
Be silent and observe
In the pursuit of the world and the desired
