Ghazal No. 309: It becomes obligatory as love has ruined my heart
When love made my heart ruined, it made it necessary
That the sun may come into the ruin of my heart
I have fallen from my feet from the shame of this grace
That king said my prayer, he also made it answered
Many faces that he showed me for a dweller
I said that I saw a face, and it was itself a veil
When a world was burned from the light of that veil
O Lord, how will that king be without a veil?
Love passed over me and I followed after
It turned back and made me a morsel and ate me like an eagle
I enjoyed the time when he ate me
I went into the sweet sea and was freed from torment
He for whom the morsels of calamities are not digestible
It is because he has not seen digestion from this wine
From this trust, the prophets drink calamity
Because water never fears fire
