Ghazal No. 32: I saw that king at dawn on the highway of Elati
I saw that king at dawn on the road of 'Hal Ata'
In the sleep of heedlessness, Bu Ali and Bu Ala were unaware of him
From that wine that I had in my head, I took a cup
I held it before him, saying, "O king, the best!"
He said, "What is this, O so-and-so?" I said, "It is the blood of lovers
Boiled and purified like the soul on the fire of love and devotion"
He said, "Since you have drunk it, you have boiled in the pot of your soul
I will drink it with my soul and heart, O garden of God's secrets!"
That intoxicated charmer of mine took the cup from my hand
And drank it like (his own) soul, for it was the soul's life-increaser
Passing a hundred degrees beyond the soul, both in joy and in relief
He gestured to the sky, "May the evil eye be far from you!"
