Ghazal No. 340: Once again, my heart has caught fire
Once again, this heart of mine has caught fire
Let it take hold, it has taken hold well
Burn, O heart, in this lightning and do not breathe
For my intellect has been seized by its cloud of melancholy
Once again, this heart of mine has seen a dream
That the blood of the heart has taken all as a carpet
I will become like the shadow of total annihilation, for
The sun of the world has taken over, leading an army
My heart, every night, in theft and treachery
Has taken from the ruby load of the sultan-like one
Where can the theft of the thief be hidden?
When he has taken the enemy's wealth under his cloak
Many a soul that leaps from the body
But its foot is held by the one who slays rivals
From the delight of his arrow's wound, this heart of mine
Has taken the corner of his quiver in its teeth
