Ghazal No. 44: In both worlds, delicate and pleasant, where is like our commander
In both worlds, who is as graceful and pleasant as our Amir?
His eyebrow did not frown, even though he saw a hundred faults
Open your eyes and look at (his) face, bring a crime and look at (his) disposition
Look at (his) disposition, like the water of a stream, all freshness and purity
I melted from his warm greeting, I became water from my shame of him
And from his soft words, even stones would melt
Bring poison before him, so that he makes it better than sugar
Place wrath before him, so that he makes it all contentment
See the water of his life, do not fear death at all
In the two doors of his satisfaction, do not tremble at fate at all
If you prostrate before him, he will give you the honor of a mosque
O you who have become humble under (his) feet like a mat
I called him the prince of love, understanding will come to you through this
Since you are a pledge of form, your form is your guide
If the heart travels away from you, it will make the liver palpitate
(It) is standing at the head, waiting until you tell it, "Come"
If the heart, like a dove, flies from your roof
The thought of your roof is the qibla of its soul in the air
The roof and the air are you and that's it, there is no face except desire
You are the water of life for the soul, all forms are water carriers
Do not go far, do not seek travel, your moon is before you
Do not shout, for under (his) lip he hears the prayer from you
He hears your prayer, he gives you the answer
That "O deaf one, I am deaf," leave it, open your ears completely
If it were not for his discourse, how would your soul sigh?
Sigh, for your sigh will make a path towards God
I am happy, spinning, that I draw water to the garden
Fruit will reach from the water of the soul to the salty, stony, and sandy ground
When the garden becomes yellow and dry, until it drinks from the water of the soul
Say to the broken branch, "Drink water and try"
When the night goes, come in time so that you may hear the king's discourse
All night long, like the moon, do not sit down until dawn
