Ghazal No. 45: How pleasant it was with his lips, talking and listening and adventure
How pleasant it would be to talk, listen, and have an adventure with his lips
Especially when he opens the door and says, "Master, come in!"
With dry lips, he tells the tale of the spring of Khidr (a prophet associated with the water of life)
The tailor of his love tailors a robe to fit the stature of a man
Eyes become intoxicated from the intoxication of his eyes
Trees dance before the gentleness of the morning breeze
The nightingale says to the rose tree, "What is in your heart?"
"Put this moment between us, there is no one but you and us"
(The rose) says, "As long as you are preoccupied with yourself, do not harbor this desire"
"Make an effort so that you may carry your belongings from this place"
Know for certain that the eye of the needle of desire is narrow
It will not allow passage to the thread when it sees it doubled
Look at the sun, (how it is) in a fire up to its throat
So that from its face, the face of the earth becomes full of light
When the speaker of truth (Moses) went towards the burning tree
(The tree) said, "I am the water of Kauthar, take off your shoes and come"
"Do not fear my fire at all, for I am water and I am pleasant"
"You have come towards fortune, the seat is yours, welcome!"
You are a jewel and a ruby mine, the soul of place and no-place
You are a rarity of the age, where are the creatures and where are you?
Every palm becomes a court of bestowal from the hand of love
The faithless world becomes a workshop of faithfulness from you
You came at the beginning of the day with a royal goblet in your hand
You are drawing my soul towards the feast, "Al-sala!" (A call to prayer or celebration)
What will the heart become when the hand of the heart takes the hand of a beloved?
What will copper become when it hears the call and cry of alchemy?
A wondrous beloved came, with a spear in hand like an Arab
I said, "Is there any service?" He said, "Come to us!"
My heart leaped (saying), "Let me run!" Reason said, "Let me go!"
(He) gestured out of generosity (and) said, "Yes, both of you, come!"
When the tray arrives from heaven, wash your hands and also your mouth
So that the smell of onions and leeks does not come from your mouth
For that salt has arrived, behold, if you are pleasant and a lover
Take the cup and give the cup, choose the salty, not the soup
I will close these two lips so that the lamp of day and night
Will also tell the tale to you with the tongue of the flame
