Ghazal No. 49: With you is life and living, without you is annihilation and dying
With you is life and living, without you is extinction and dying
Because you are the sun, and without you there would be freezing
Creatures on these carpets, in your hand like a pawn
From you they become the moon, and from you the pawn is moved
(My breath) said, "What are you giving (me)? I have entrusted (my) breath to you"
"I am not unaware of you in entrusting (my) breath with every breath"
I was going forward in prostration, lowly, bent like a camel
(He) opened his lips, laughing, (and) said, "O long-necked one!"
See what you will do, see what you will do
You have stretched out your neck, you will eat cotton
