Behold Azra and Vamiq, behold the creatures in that fire.

Behold the beloved and the lover, behold that king and that royal sign.

When the essence entered the sea of Qulzum, it neither became hidden nor wet.

From the sea of Qulzum, a fire arose, and in it are both "no" and "but God".

When it is not the time, be slow; when your eye is closed,

Do not boast and do not be weary; do not say "below" and do not say "above".

For towards the intellect, a perverse view has come from a vengeful fate.

Like a paralytic, like a wretch, that intellect remains in its place.

If you are from Adam, hold your breath in this sea,

For this is obligatory for you, O uncle, whether today or tomorrow.

From the sea, this pearl is ashamed; what place is there for water and mud?

What soul and intellect and heart would there be that is not the foam of the sea?

What a passion this heart cooks, what bile this soul produces!

How bewildered this cunning intellect keeps you!

Blessed is the cloud that showers pearls from Shams al-Din Tabrizi,

Blessed is the security and sugar-scattering amidst the world of tumult!
