Ghazal 15: O holy beloved, who will remove your veil?
O holy beloved, who can draw the string of your veil
And O heavenly bird, who can give you grain and water
Sleep has left my eyes in this heart-burning thought
Whose embrace has become your resting place and sleep
You don't ask after the dervish, and I fear there isn't
Any thought of forgiveness or care for virtue in you
That intoxicated eye has struck the path to lovers' hearts
It's clear from this manner that your wine is intoxicated
The arrow you shot at my heart from your glance went astray
Let's see what your right judgment will think next
Every lament and cry I made, you did not hear
It's clear, beloved, that your threshold is high
The water source is far from this desert, beware
Lest the desert demon deceive you with its mirage
See how you'll fare on the path of old age, O heart
Indeed, your days of youth were spent in error
O heart-illuminating palace that is the dwelling of intimacy
O Lord, may the calamities of time not ruin you
Hafez is not a slave who would flee from his master
Make peace and return, for I am ruined by your reproach
