Ghazal 86: Come, Saki, for the beloved has unveiled their face

Come cupbearer for the beloved took the veil from their face

The work of solitude-seekers' lamp caught fire again

That covered candle again lit up its face

And this aged elder took up youth anew

Love gave such coquetry that the mufti left the path

And the friend showed such grace that the enemy took caution

Beware of that sweet heart-deceiving expression

As if your pistachio (mouth) took speech in sugar

The burden of grief that had wounded our mind

God sent a Jesus-breath and took it away

Every cypress-statured who boasted beauty over moon and sun

When you appeared took up another pursuit

From this tale heaven's seven domes are full of echo

See the short-sighted one who took speech briefly

Hafez from whom did you learn this speech that fortune

Made an amulet of your poetry and took it in gold
