Ghazal No. 174: Rejoice, O heart, for the morning breeze has returned once more
Good news, O heart, for the breeze of dawn has returned again
The hoopoe, the bearer of good news, has returned from the land of Sheba
Sing again, O morning bird, the melody of David
For Solomon's flower has returned with the breeze
Where is the mystic who can understand the language of the lily?
To ask why it left and why it has returned
He showed humanity and generosity, the grace of God-given to me
For that moon-faced idol has returned from the path of loyalty
The tulip heard the scent of sweet wine from the morning breeze
The heart's wound, in hope of a cure, has returned
My eye remained on the path of this caravan
Until the sound of the door returned to the ear of my heart
Although Hafez suffered and broke his vow
Behold his grace, for he has returned with grace to our door
