Ghazal No. 198: I asked when your lips and mouth will bring me joy?
غزل شماره ۱۹۸: گفتم کی ام دهان و لبت کامران کنند؟
I said, 'When will I be the one whose mouth and lips are fortunate?'
He said, 'With the eye, whatever you say, they will do'
گفتم کی ام دهان و لبت کامران کنند
گفتا به چشم هر چه تو گویی چنان کنند
I said, 'Your lips demand the tax of Egypt'
He said, 'In this transaction, they will cause less loss'
گفتم خراج مصر طلب میکند لبت
گفتا در این معامله کمتر زیان کنند
I said, 'With the dot of your mouth, you have taken the path'
He said, 'This is a story that is told with subtlety'
گفتم به نقطه دهنت خود که برد راه
گفت این حکایتیست که با نکته دان کنند
I said, 'Do not be an idol worshipper, sit with the eternal one'
He said, 'In the alley of love, both this and that are done'
گفتم صنم پرست مشو با صمد نشین
گفتا به کوی عشق هم این و هم آن کنند
I said, 'The air of the tavern takes away sorrow from the heart'
He said, 'Good for those who have a happy heart'
گفتم هوای میکده غم میبرد ز دل
گفتا خوش آن کسان که دلی شادمان کنند
I said, 'Wine and the cloak are not the rituals of the religion'
He said, 'This action is done according to the religion of the old Magi'
گفتم شراب و خرقه نه آیین مذهب است
گفت این عمل به مذهب پیر مغان کنند
I said, 'What benefit is there from the ruby lips of the old one?'
He said, 'With the sweet kiss of his lips, they will become young'
گفتم ز لعل نوش لبان پیر را چه سود
گفتا به بوسه شکرینش جوان کنند
I said, 'When will the lord go to the bridal chamber?'
He said, 'At that time when the buyer and the seller make a pact'
گفتم که خواجه کی به سر حجله میرود
گفت آن زمان که مشتری و مه قران کنند
I said, 'The prayer of his kingdom is the recitation of Hafez'
He said, 'This prayer is done by the angels of the seven heavens'
گفتم دعای دولت او ورد حافظ است
گفت این دعا ملایک هفت آسمان کنند
