Ghazal No. 238: The world drew the festival's crescent on the brow of the holiday
The world is drawn to the eyebrow of the beloved, like the crescent moon
The crescent moon of the festival should be seen in the eyebrow of the beloved
My stature was broken, like the back of the crescent moon
The bow of my beloved's eyebrow was drawn back, like the bow of the crescent moon
Unless the breeze of your writing passed through the meadow in the morning
For the rose, with the scent of you, tore its clothes like the morning
There was no harp, nor lute, nor wine, nor wood
The rose of my existence was mixed with rosewater and wine
Come, let me tell you the sorrow of my heart's boredom
For without you, I do not have the opportunity to speak and listen
If the price of union with you was my life, I would be the buyer
For the good merchandise is bought by the one who sees everything
When I saw the moon of your face in the evening of your tresses
My night was bright with your face, like the day
My life reached my lips, but my desire did not come
My hope reached its end, but my request did not reach its end
Hafez wrote a few words from the joy of your face
Read from his writing, and listen in your ear, like a pearl
