Ghazal No. 321: Though I have grown old, weary of heart, and weakened.
Although I became old, weary, and weak-hearted
Whenever I remembered your face, I became young
Thank God that whatever I asked from Him
I achieved the utmost of my ambition
O young rose bush, enjoy your fortune, for I
In your shade, I became the nightingale of the world's garden
At first, I was unaware of the above and below of my existence
In your grief's school, I became such a knower of details
My fate directs me to the tavern
Even though I became this and that
That day, a door of meaning opened in my heart
That I became one of the residents of the old Magian's court
On the highway of eternal fortune to the throne of destiny
With a cup of wine, I fulfilled the hearts of friends
Since the time when the mischief of your eye reached me
I became safe from the mischief of the end times
I am not old by years, it is the unfaithful beloved
As life passes by me, I became old because of that
Last night, grace gave me the good news, O Hafez
Return, for I have guaranteed the forgiveness of your sins
