Ghazal No. 476: O breeze of the morning happiness! Know the sign that you know.
O breeze of the fortunate morning, with that sign that you know,
Pass by such-and-such street at the time that you know.
You are the messenger of a secret solitude, with eyes on your path,
With kindness, not by command, proceed as you know.
Say that my dear soul is lost, for God's sake,
Bestow from his soul-enhancing ruby that which you know.
I wrote these letters in such a way that no one else knew,
You too, out of generosity, read them as you know.
The thought of your sword with us is like the tale of the thirsty and water,
You have taken me captive; slay as you know.
How can I place hope in your golden belt?
There is a subtle point, O beloved, within that which you know.
Turkish and Arabic are the same in this matter, Hafez,
Express the tale of love in the language that you know.
